2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS vs 2018 Porsche 911

2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS vs 2018 Porsche 911

Another 2019 Mercedes-Benz model that seems to be going through a great many changes is that of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS. Revamped and refreshed, the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS retunes its engine for more power, adds new trim levels, and includes plenty of revolutionary new technology as standard inclusions, even on its baseline trim. That's some big talk, we admit, so let's see how it compares.

Against the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS, we've chosen the 2018 Porsche 911. However, seeing as the baseline of the 2018 Porsche 911 is a bit more pricey than past CLS baseline models have been, we've chosen to compare it against the new and upcoming AMG® 53 performance model. So, here we go! It's the 2018 Mercedes-AMG® CLS 53 vs the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera!

2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS D'lberville, MS

Although we don't yet have all of the information regarding the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS models, we have enough of the specs to determine that its AMG® builds trump the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera. A far more powerful engine and a fuel tank that nearly has 50% more capacity put it over the top.

Currently, the pricing of the 2019 CLS models has not been released. However, based on its specs and the past 2018 CLS models, the AMG® trims of the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS should likely be priced between $80,000 to $100,000, meaning it has a higher probability of being more affordable than the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera. It's a bit tough to speculate as the AMG® CLS 53 will be a brand-new trim. For example, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG® CLS 63 was a higher trim level than the AMG® CLS 53 with a lot more power, yet a higher price, so the price of this CLS trim will most likely be significantly under that.

Still, beyond its known specs, we do know that the 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS models will have these features available:

  • COMAND® Navigation
  • Leather Upholstery
  • Blind Spot Assist
  • Rearview Camera
  • LED Intelligent Light System
  • AIRMATIC® Adaptive Air Suspension
  • SmartKey
  • Ventilated and Heated Seats
  • Power Tilt/Sliding Sunroof
  • ECO-START® and ECO-STOP® System
  • Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers
  • And More!
